What Students Are Saying

The work created in your workshop was very impressive and your style of teaching was inspiring. The feedback from your students about your teaching style, the work they created and the experience of the workshop in general was excellent. Everyone learned something and enjoyed the process. Again, thank you for your contribution and for allowing us
to see the world through your eyes, and for helping us
touch our own hearts through your inspiration.
Gratefully, Arzi / ArtWorks Coordinator

This has been, without a doubt, one of the most stimulating and exciting classes I’ve ever taken. Your methods, motivation, skills, and love for writing positively oozes out of every pore in your body. I for one can’t stop absorbing, learning, and writing. I anxiously await each Friday like a kid opening up a present. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

All the rituals you’ve created in class, from a moment of meditation to the prompts, reading my work, buddies, craft discussions, class exercises.
If I had to say one thing has helped keep me focused, it’s the goals and re-evaluating the goals. I tend to be goal oriented, and having to write them down and talk about them in class has really helped so much.  Also, having to give a takeaway and a weekly goal at the end of class has been great.  It helps me leave class with a perspective, ready to go home and do the work. The whole experience has been phenomenal for me.
I am really loving everything about class. It’s been
a wonderful experience and you are the reason why it is!

I have deeply enjoyed this class. I’m primarily a visual artist. This class was my first glimpse into the mysterious internals of writing. One of my approaches is to incorporate words into my artworks.
I’m grateful to you for your generosity and encouragement.

Having taken Anique’s class previously, I had high expectations
and she fulfilled my hopes, not only repeating the best of the past classes
but adding new dimensions every week. I received the quantity
and quality of feedback I was looking for. Anique gently but professionally suggests and constantly applauds and encourages all of us.
The class exposed me to new ways of approaching writing.
Anique has been great about encouraging me to learn new ways
of approaching topics. The participants in this class got to know each other
very well which was wonderful. Anique is very intuitive and caring in addition to being an excellent instructor, so every student’s needs were met individually in class. I have taken two of Anique’s classes
and she adjusts the class to meet the needs of the students, therefore automatically improving the class.

Anique, I have never been so thrilled with a writing class than with yours. Right time, right place, right teacher, right subject…everything was in line to bring enlightenment to me, and I can’t thank you enough.
I learned that writing can be thrilling. By writing often, studying style,
making it richer with more thought and play, can get better results
and have fun in the process. The exercises you gave us,
making lists of unconnected things then thoughtfully making connections, hit home with me. I loved playing with words and phrases like that and it opened up a whole new world for me in regards to writing more creatively.
I’ve become more confident when writing, taking chances.
You’ve given me the tools to be a much more creative writer.
What mattered: Your kindness. Your “right on” critiques. Your encouragement. Your enthusiasm for writing and teaching. Your wonderful reaction when someone makes a breakthrough. Your positive attitude.
Class dynamics which start with the leader.
I am so glad you are offering more classes. I miss them!
Sharon

Thanks so much Anique. It means a lot. You’re so uplifting.
Your encouragement helps me forge forward.
And, has helped me enjoy writing more and more.
A big THANKS.
